English 20-1 blocks one and three

Today is novel study. Last Friday you were to have handed in your answers on the essay reading "Labour Day..." We will mark it as a class today. Additionally, you were to have finished finding the answer for your Fit to Print introductory worksheet. We will also mark this in class today.

English 30-1 block two

Today is novel study. We will mark the Fit to Print introduction worksheet and I will mark the outline activity on my own. You are then going to work on an essay by Stephen King. You are expected to have it actively read and ready to answer questions for tomorrow.

Social Studies 33

We will discuss the assignment from last Friday (remember? It's due today!!!) Focussing on why being open-minded is so important. From here, we will start our discussion on various ways countries can politically manage their countries. Today you are going to read pages 16 to 20 of A Changing World and then answer the questions I will be providing. These are due for Tuesday. Keep in mind that marks improve when you take the time to really read actively and not just search for the answer.
I have copied the assignment for you below:

SOCIAL STUDIES 33: TOPIC A:
POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC SYSTEMS
THEME I: “POLITICAL SYSTEMS”

STUDENT ACTIVITY: IDEAS ABOUT POLITICAL ORGANIZATION

INTRODUCTION
In chapter one of A Changing World, you read about how people in ancient times organized themselves into societies out of necessity. When people get together to decide something, such as how to organize a society, there will usually be a disagreement. There is disagreement because people have differing opinions as to what is the best way to do something. By reading chapter two, you will come to understand why people disagree about the kind of organization society needs and how this disagreement is based on the view of life a person holds.
